This strawberry banana smoothie is made in 5 minutes with 5 easy ingredients for the perfect on-the-go breakfast smoothie.
This strawberry banana smoothie is seriously good.
It’s made with loads of fresh strawberries and frozen bananas for heaps of flavor and a deliciously creamy texture.
It’s perfect for breakfast or a snack you can whip together any time of day. My favorite time for smoothies is breakfast, or after a workout. Nothing refreshes and hydrates like fruit.
And if you love strawberries then you’ll also love our delicious strawberry smoothie and strawberry mango smoothie.
Ingredients You’ll Need For This Smoothie
Ingredient Notes
- Maple syrup – is optional but delicious in this smoothie.
- Fresh strawberries – if strawberries are in season then this is the perfect time to make this smoothie. If they’re not in season then you can switch them for frozen strawberries.
- Frozen banana – creates the creamy texture for this drink. It’s ideal to peel, quarter and freeze excess ripe bananas whenever you have them, so that they’re ready when you want to make smoothies. If you don’t have frozen bananas available you can use fresh (unfrozen) banana, but frozen is best.
- Almond butter – can be replaced with another nut butter if you like.
- Almond milk – can be replaced with another non-dairy milk option.
How To Make A Strawberry Banana Smoothie
You will find full instructions and measurements in the recipe card at the bottom of the post. This is a summary of the process to go along with the process photos.
- Add all the ingredients to the blender jug starting with almond milk, then almond butter, maple syrup, frozen banana and fresh strawberries.
- Blend until very smooth.
- Pour out into glasses and serve immediately.
Recipe Tips
A high speed blender will always make your smoothie life more fun! We use and highly recommend a Vitamix.
Serve immediately. I don’t recommend storing smoothies as the fresh ingredients will begin to oxidize. As soon as the smoothie is blended, pour it out into glasses and drink up!

- 2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
- 2 Medium Frozen Bananas (200g)
- 2 cups Fresh Strawberries (300g)
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to the blender jug starting with almond milk, then almond butter, maple syrup, frozen banana and fresh strawberries.
- Blend until very smooth.
- Pour out into glasses and serve immediately.
Notes
- Almond milk – can be replaced with another non-dairy milk option.
- Almond butter – can be replaced with another nut butter if you like.
- Maple syrup – is optional but delicious in this smoothie.
- Frozen banana – it’s a good idea to always freeze any excess ripe bananas you have on hand. Peel them, break them into quarters and freeze them in a freezer bag. That way you always have frozen bananas available for use in your smoothies. If you don’t have frozen bananas available you can use fresh (unfrozen) banana, but frozen is best for the creamy texture in this smoothie.
- Fresh strawberries – if strawberries are in season then this is the perfect time to make this smoothie. If they’re not in season then you can switch them for frozen strawberries.

The smoothie was good, and I liked the added sweetness of maple syrup.
